Insider : iPhone 14 to start at $799

The base model of the iPhone 14 will be priced at $799. The news was reported by MacRumors.

The reporters referred to a report by the authors of the Korean blog Naver, who are confident that Apple will not increase the price of launch smartphones. According to the information declassified by insider, the cost of the iPhone 14 will start at $799 -- the same price as the iPhone 13.

According to insiders, the U.S. company is thus aiming to boost sales and offset declining demand amid a slowdown in the global smartphone market. The sources said the decision to freeze the price of the entry-level device in the series was made "at the highest executive levels" of Apple. The report said executives decided not to raise prices despite rising production costs and supply problems.

MacRumors authors noted that if indeed Apple does not raise prices, it will be the second consecutive year in which the price of the flagship's base model with a 6.1-inch display will remain unchanged. The iPhone 12, unveiled in 2020, was also priced at $799. The iPhone 14 smartphone series is expected to be announced in September.

In early July, experts reported that the iPhone 14 Pro would cost $1,099. Therefore, all Pro models of Apple phones will increase by $100.
